What do you see?

The Initial Firewall Policy screen allows you to enter the rules that will apply to your firewall when it goes into service.  The rules you enter here define the kinds of traffic your firewall will allow through to your network.  You can modify your firewall rules later using the

• Fields and buttons

  Field	Description
  Address Type	This drop-down list allows you to select whether you want the rule you are creating to apply to a single originating IP address(An IP address is the unique identifier for a particular machine on an IP-based network such as the Internet.  Every computer on the network must have a unique IP address.  IP addresses are made up of 32 bits and written as four sets of numbers between 0 and 255, separated by a period, for example 256.43.7.25.), a range of originating IP addresses, or all IP addresses.
  Source - Start	This field allows you to type the first originating IP address to which the rule you are creating should apply.
  Source - End	This field allows you to type the last originating IP address to which the rule you are creating should apply.
  Address Type	This drop-down list allows you to select whether you want the rule you are creating to apply to a single terminating IP address, a range of originating IP addresses, or all IP addresses.
  Destination - Start	This field allows you to type the first terminating IP address to which the rule you are creating should apply.
  Destination - End	This field allows you to type the first terminating IP address to which the rule you are creating should apply.
  Service/Port	This field allows you to type the kind of service to which the rule should apply, or the identifier of the firewall port to which the rule should apply.
  Action	This drop-down list allows you to select the action you want the firewall to take for the rule you are creating.  Your options are: Accept Drop Encrypt
  	Click this button to add a rule you entered using the fields above to the list of rules for the policy.
  	Click this button to remove the selected rule from the Rules box.
  Rules	This box lists the rules you create using the fields above.
  Comments	This box allows you to type additional information to add to the firewall policy.
  	Click this button to add the policy you created to the MFW service component.  When you click this button, the system saves your policy, then returns you to the Initial Setup screen.  The Initial Firewall Policy item at the bottom of the screen should now have a status of Completed.
  	Click this button to return to the previous screen without taking any action.

Note:  By default, your firewall will block all traffic you do not specifically allow.  Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are mandatory.
