The New Routing screen allows you to request a specific type of routing between the endpoints of your iQ Ports (Internet port, Private port and Enhanced port), SmPVC(Smart PVC - IP-enabled Frame Relay/ATM Service that is achieved by deploying advanced IP routing technology based on the Multi-Protocol Label Switching standard. This technology integrates the capabilities of Layer 3 routing and Layer 2 switching. MPLS tags are utilized to maintain security and isolation across the IP network. Because of this IP routing functionality, customers will receive "direct any-to-any" network connectivity without implementing SVCs or building a fully meshed network. The Smart PVC retains a Frame Relay/ATM user interface, enabling customers to keep their current router set-ups.), or PRN(Private Routed Network - This product enables customers to build a secure, feature rich, wide area network. Customers can seamlessly integrate Internet Access, network-based firewalls, and encryption to their WAN.) services. Description
Type of Product
This drop-down list allows you to select the kind of service for which you want new routing. Your options are:

Internet Port(Provides customer locations with connectivity to the Internet.)

Private Port(Private Ports provide WAN connectivity between customer locations. Customers have the option to allocate traffic to point-to-point layer 2 connections or layer 3 MPLS services, with template-based quality of service (QoS) traffic prioritization [template document available upon request].)

Enhanced Port(Provides all of the functionality of both an Internet Port and a PRN Port in a consolidated communications solution.)

Type of Routing
These radio buttons allow you to select the type of routing you want to add to your service. Your options are:

BGP(Border Gateway Protocol routing is a "smart" routing protocol. What this means is that if a network is connected to more than one Internet Provider, and one of the network connections goes down, BGP routing has the intelligence built within the network and router to know how and where to re-route Internet traffic automatically.)

Static(With static routing, data is sent directly from one router to the router at the end location. Unlike BGP Routing, the network cannot re-route traffic automatically. If a fiber cut occurs or trouble on the circuit prevents data from being sent, traffic must be rerouted manually since static routing is strictly point to point.)
Note: When you click one of these radio buttons, the system refreshes your browser window, displaying different fields depending on your selection. The fields described below are for the Static option.
Do you want to route these blocks over more than one connection with Qwest?
These radio buttons allow you to indicate whether you want your routing to make more than one connection with Qwest.
Note: If you select Yes, the Serial Address and Circuit ID fields appear below.
Number of static routes needed
This field allows you to type the total number of static routes you would like for your circuit.
If you changed the number of static routes you need, click this button to refresh your browser window. When you click this button, the system refreshes your browser window, displaying fields that allow you to define the routes.
IP Address Block
These fields allow you to type the IP addresses for which you want to use static routing.
CIDR Prefix Length
These drop-down lists allow you to select the appropriate CIDR(Classless InterDomain Routing - CIDR allows groups of addresses to be assigned within a single network without having to identify each address. The number of bits used for the network portion determines how many addresses are available for hosts. The available addresses are identified by a CIDR prefix and that equates to the subnet mask.) prefixes to indicate how many addresses are available within each IP address.
Serial Address
These fields allow you to type the IP addresses of the Qwest serial hosts that will route your traffic.
Note: These fields only appear if you select Yes from the Do you want to route these blocks over more than one connection with Qwest? radio buttons.
Circuit ID
These fields allow you to type the identifiers for the circuits that will use the static routing.
Note: These fields only appear if you select Yes from the Do you want to route these blocks over more than one connection with Qwest? radio buttons.
Add Additional Comments
This box allows you to type any additional information necessary to configure your routing. Please provide as much information as possible to facilitate configuration of your static route.
Click this button to send your routing information to Qwest. When you click this button, the system displays a message indicating the success or failure of your submission.

These radio buttons allow you to select the kind of BGP routing you need. Your options are:

Serial Address
This field allows you to type the IP address of the Qwest serial host that will handle your routing.
Circuit ID
This field allows you to type the unique identifier for the circuit for which you want BGP routing.
What is your Fast Ethernet/Loopback IPAddress?
This field allows you to type the IP address of the router that will handle your Multihop BGP routing.
Note: This field only appears if you select Multihop from the Type of eBGP radio buttons above.
Are you multi-homed with another provider?
These radio buttons allow you to indicate whether or not you are also using another provider as part of your BGP routing.
Note: The fields appearing below this screen vary depending on what you select. When you select one of these radio buttons, the system refreshes your browser, displaying the fields appropriate to your selection.
Number of connection types needed
This field allows you to type the total number of connections you will need for the other providers with whom you are multi-homed.
If you changed the number of connection types you need, click this button to refresh your browser window. When you click this button, the system refreshes your browser window, displaying fields that allow you to define the connection types.
Connection Type
These fields allow you to type the kinds of connections you need for you multi-homed BGP routing.
ISP
These fields allow you to type the names of the providers with whom you are multi-homed.
Private AS requested?
This check box allows you to request a private Autonomous System Number.
What type of Router will you be using on this connection?
This drop-down list allows you to select the brand of router you will be using for your BGP routing.
Note: If you select Other, a field appears so that you can type the name of your router's manufacturer.
How much memory does this Router have?
This drop-down list allows you to select the total amount of memory available on your router.
What is your Autonomous System Number?
This field allows you to type your Autonomous System Number.
Note: This field is not required if you selected the Private AS requested? check box.
Do you have any BGP customers?
These radio buttons allow you to indicate whether or not you have any customers who will be using BGP routing over your circuits.
Note: If you select Yes, the system will refresh your browser window. When the window refreshes, it will contain fields allowing you to identify the customers' Autonomous System Numbers.
How many BGP customers do you have?
This field allows you to type the total number of customers you have who will be using your BGP routing.
If you changed the number of BGP customers you have, click this button to refresh your browser window. When you click this button, the system refreshes your browser window, displaying fields that allow you to enter the customers' Autonomous System Numbers.
