Defining Secure Users

 


Procedure

Follow the steps below to enter the secure users you want your firewall to recognize:

Action

From the Managed Firewall PRN screen, click the ID of the Open firewall for which you want to define network configuration.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Modify Managed Firewall Details screen.

From the Functions section on the left-hand side of the screen, click Initial Setup.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Initial Setup screen.

From the Form Name list at the bottom of the screen, click Secure Users.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Secure Users screen.

In the User Name field, type the name you want to assign to the user.

In the User ID field, type unique identifier you want to associate with the user.

In the Password field, type the password the user will use to get past your firewall.

Click btn_newaddarrows.gif.

 

Result:  The system adds the user you just defined to the Secure Users box.

Repeat Steps 4 through 7 for all the users you want to create.

 

Note:  You can remove routes from the Secure Users box by highlighting the offending user and clicking btn_newremove.gif.

Click btn_newsubmit.gif.

 

Result:  The system attempts to save the secure user information and associate it with the firewall before returning you to the Initial Setup screen.  The Secure Users option at the bottom of the screen should now have a status of Completed.
