What do you see?

This screen gives you summary and detailed information on how your network ports have been utilized and have performed over the time period you specified.

• Fields and buttons

  Field	Description
  Port Name	For Enterprise-level reports, this column lists the name of each port in the Enterprise. By default, your provider assigns the port a unique identifier. You can change port names using the Port Details page. If you have assigned a name to any port, that name will appear in this column.   Note:  This column does not appear on reports generated for a single port.
  Date	For reports generated for a single port, this column lists each date or time period in the report. You can drill down to more detailed information by clicking any date or time in the list.
  Type	This column indicates port type. Valid values are FR(FRame) or ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode).   Note:  This column does not appear on reports generated for a single port.
  Total Bytes (cells)	For FR(FRame) ports, this column indicates the sum of the Ingress and Egress bytes, including Committed, Discard Eligible, and Over Discard Eligible.   For ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ports, this column indicates the sum of Ingress and Egress cells, both CLP(Cell Loss Priority) "0" and "1".
  Avg Tx Util %	The average Ingress utilization percentage measured on the port. Ingress traffic is that traffic transmitted from the customer premise equipment, through the network, to the far end user connection.
  Avg Peak Tx Util %	An average of the hourly peak Ingress utilization measurements for the port. The average peak utilization is an average of the maximum hourly utilization rate recorded for the port during 5 minute "peak measurement" periods.
  Tx Bytes (cells)	Port Ingress traffic transmitted from the user. For FR(FRame) ports, this value is measured in bytes. For ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ports, this value is measured in cells.
  Avg Rx Util %	The average Egress utilization percentage measured on the port. Egress traffic is received by the port from the far end user connection.
  Avg Peak Rx Util %	The average of the hourly peak Egress utilization measurements for the port. The average peak utilization is an average of the maximum hourly utilization rate recorded for the port during 5 minute "peak measurement" periods.
  Rx Bytes (cells)	Port Egress traffic received from the network. This value is measured in bytes for FR(FRame) ports, and in cells for ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ports.
  In Discard Rate	For FR(FRame) ports, the ratio of discarded ingress frames to total ingress frames. Discards are complete frames that are discarded due to bad DLCI or invalid Frame header. This can occur if an interface receives frames for a PVC that is down(normally due to the far end interface being down).   The measurement is not applicable to ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ports.
  In Error Rate	The ratio of ingress frames or cells with errors to total ingress frames or cells. For FR(FRame) ports, inbound error frames are discarded due to physical errors(for example, bad CRC, long or short frames, non-octet frames, aborted frames).   For ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) OC3/DS3/T1 ports, cells are discarded due to uncorrectable HEC errors. For OC12 ports this is a count of the number of cells received with correctable HEC errors.
  Out Discard Rate	The ratio of discarded egress frames or cells to total egress frames or cells received from the far end user connection. For FR(FRame) ports, frames are normally discarded at egress as a result of insufficient port capacity in relation to the traffic arrival rate from other sites. Out discards rates consistently greater than .1% are an indicator of insufficient port capacity or inadequate traffic shaping on the customer network. Traffic shaping can alleviate problems with high out discard rates.   For ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ports, the measurement applies only if Flow Control is enabled, and applies to cells discarded at egress due to not passing Flow Control parameters.
