Adding a Telephone Number to Selected BTNs

 


Procedure

Follow the steps below to associate one or more telephone numbers with one or more selected BTNs:

Action

From the Billing Accounts (BTN) screen, select the check box next to the account(s) to which you want to add telephone numbers.

From the drop-down list at the bottom of the screen, select Add New TNs at Selected BTNs, then click btn_newgo.gif.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Add New TN#s - Flat Rate Business Line screen.

From the Service Address Selection section, choose the location to which you want to add a new telephone number.

 

Result:  The system refreshes your browser window.  When the screen reappears, the Search for Available TN#s replaces the Service Address Selection section.

What kind of search do you want to perform?

If you want to...

Then...

Search for any available telephone numbers.

  1. Select the Search for Any Available TN#s radio button.

  2. Proceed to Step 4.

Search for a specific telephone number or numbers.

 

Note:  This option will result in additional charges.

  1. Select the Custom Search TN#s radio button.

    Result:
     The Reserve Telephone Numbers by radio buttons appear.

  2. Select the appropriate radio button.

    Result:
     Additional fields appear, allowing you to supply specific information about the numbers you want the system to retrieve.

  3. Follow the instructions provided on the screen to select the number

  4. Proceed to Step 4.

In the Enter Requested Quantity field, type the number of telephone numbers you want the system to retrieve, then click btn_newsubmit.gif.

 

Result:  The system retrieves the number of telephone numbers you requested, based on any criteria you supplied.  The numbers appear in the List of TN#s list.

In the List of TN#s list, select the check box next to the telephone numbers you wish to reserve.

 

Note:  Reserving a telephone number does not guarantee you will actually get that telephone number. If the number you reserved cannot be provisioned, you will be issued a new telephone number.

From the Select an action...  drop-down list, select Reserve Selected TN#s, then click btn_newgo.gif.

 

Result:  The system attempts to reserve the selected telephone numbers, then takes you to a confirmation screen.  This screen indicates the success or failure of your reservation.

From the Where do you want to go next? drop-down list, select View all reserved TN#s..., then click btn_newgo.gif.

 

Result:  The system returns you to the Add New TN#s - Flat Rate Business Line screen.

Then...

Cancel the reservation for one or more telephone numbers

  1. Select the check box next to the number(s) you want to cancel.

  2. Select Cancel reservation of selected TN#s, then click btn_newgo.gif.

    Result:
     The system attempts to cancel the selected reservation(s), then takes you to a confirmation screen.  This screen indicates the success or failure of the cancellation.

Configure a feature package for one or more telephone numbers

  1. Select the check box next to the number(s) you want to configure.

  2. Select Configure Package for selected TN#s, then click btn_newgo.gif

Configure individual features for one or more telephone numbers

  1. Select the check box next to the number(s) you want to cancel.

  2. Select Configure Features for selected TN#s, then click btn_newgo.gif

  3. See Adding/Changing Telephone Number Features for more information.

Configure the long-distance carrier for one or more telephone numbers

  1. Select the check box next to the number(s) you want to cancel.

  2. Select Configure LD Carrier for selected TN#s, then click btn_newgo.gif

  3. See Changing Long Distance Carriers for more information.
