Modifying DNIS

Procedure

Follow the steps below to update the DNIS codes associated with one of your dedicated terminating addresses:

Notes:

  • You must order every combination of trunk group and DNIS value through the standard ordering process. Changing DNIS on an existing termination will affect all existing routing instructions within the call plan. This also applies when changing an enhanced feature will replace the existing DNIS on a terminating address.

  • If you modify DNIS on a number that is part of a superroute, all the numbers on that superroute will utilize that same DNIS.  Overriding all of the DNIS on a superroute could have routing and reporting issues for if you rely on the unique DNIS.  Contact the Help Desk if need to modify DNIS on a number that is part of a superroute.

Caution:   If you have EZRoute or QWCC, changes to your DNIS must be made in those applications.  If you attempt to change DNIS in the Toll-free application, your toll-free numbers may stop working!
