Editing a Routing Instruction

 


Procedure

Follow the steps below to a single routing instruction associated with a feature:  

 

Note:  The system will not allow you to make changes to BRNA features.   Contact the Help Desk for more information on making changes to these features.

 

Step

Action

On the Call Routing Tree screen for the number whose routing instruction(s) you want to edit, select the call plan to which you want to add features.

 

Result:  The system opens the call plan you selected.

Click Modify Call Plan from the Functions section on the left-hand side of the screen.

 

Result:  The system enters Modify mode, and the New Terminating Address link appears in the Page Links section of the left-hand navigation bar.

 

Note:  You cannot use your browser buttons to navigate the system.  When you click your browser's Back button, the system displays a message asking you not to do that, and takes no further action.  You must return to View Only mode by clicking either the Save Changes or Cancel Changes links on the left-hand side of the screen.

Click the routing instruction you want to edit.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Routing Instruction Details screen for the selected instruction.

What kind of routing instruction do you want to edit?

If you want to edit a...

Then...

Day of Year feature

  1. From the Terminating Routes drop-down list, select the terminating address to which you want the network to begin routing calls.

  2. From the Holiday drop-down list, select the new date to which you want the routing instruction to apply.

Day of Week feature

  1. From the Terminating Routes drop-down list, select the terminating address to which you want the network to begin routing calls.

  2. From the Start Day drop-down list, select the first day of the week on which you want the routing instruction to apply.

    Note:
     Weeks always start on Sunday and end on Saturday.  Sunday must be added separately if you wish to route calls over a weekend.

  3. From the Stop Day drop-down list, select the last day of the week on which you want the routing instruction to apply.

Time of Day feature

  1. From the Terminating Routes drop-down list, select the terminating address to which you want the network to begin routing calls.

  2. In the Start Time fields, type the hour of day on which you want the network to begin routing calls to the selected terminating address.

    Note:
     You enter time in hours and minutes of a 24-hour clock (military time). A 24 hour period in the toll-free application is measured from 0000 to 2359 or midnight to 11:59 p.m.

  3. In the Stop Time fields, type the hour of day on which you want the network to stop routing calls to the selected terminating address.

Geographic Routing feature

  1. From the Terminating Routes drop-down list, select the terminating address to which you want the network to begin routing calls.

  2. In the Delete column, select the check box for each NPA/NXX you want to remove from the routing instruction.

  3. In the Type or Paste New NPA/NXX Combinations box, type any new area code/exchange combinations you want to add to the instruction.

    Note:
     Make sure you put each NPA/NXX on a separate line!

Percentage Allocation feature

  1. From the Terminating Routes drop-down list, select the terminating address to which you want the network to begin routing calls.

  2. In the Percentage Allocated field, type the percentage of calls you want the network to route to the selected terminating address.

Click btn_update.gif.

 

Result:  The system saves your changes, then returns you to the Call Routing Tree.

From the Functions section on the left-hand side of the screen, click Save Changes.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Jobs Scheduling screen.

Type the date and time on which you want your changes propagated to the network.

 

Note:  When entering time, remember that you are using a 24-hour clock.

Click btn_submit_chngs.gif.

 

Result:  The system schedules your changes to occur on the date and time indicated.  The system will display a message containing a unique identifier for your order and allowing you to check its status.

 

Note:  If you entered the current date and time, the system will attempt to make your changes immediately.
