Editing Feature Details

 


Procedure

Follow the steps below to edit a selected feature of the current call plan:

 

Note:  If you are editing a feature of a call plan that terminates to a restricted trunk, the system will block the action and display an error message.

 

Step

Action

On the Call Routing Tree screen for the number whose feature(s) you want to edit, select the call plan to which you want to add features.

 

Result:  The system opens the call plan you selected.

Click Modify Call Plan from the Functions section on the left-hand side of the screen.

 

Result:  The system enters Modify mode, and the New Terminating Address link appears in the Page Links section of the left-hand navigation bar.

 

Note:  You cannot use your browser buttons to navigate the system.  When you click your browser's Back button, the system displays a message asking you not to do that, and takes no further action.  You must return to View Only mode by clicking either the Save Changes or Cancel Changes links on the left-hand side of the screen.

Click the feature you want to edit.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Feature Details screen for the selected feature.

What kind of feature are you editing?

If you are editing...

Then...

A time-based feature

  1. From the Default Routing Type section of the screen, select the routing type you want to assign to the feature.

  2. From the Time Zone drop-down list, select the appropriate time zone

    Note:
     Although it is not mandatory, you should set time zones according to the location of the terminating address.

Geographic Routing

  1. From the Default Routing Type section of the screen, select the routing type you want to assign to the feature.

  2. In the Search for NPA/NXX field, type an area code and exchange for which you want to search in your call plans.

  3. Click btn_newsearch.gif.

    Result:
     The system retrieves all instances of the selected NPA/NXX in your call plan(s).

Percentage Allocation

If you want to have the feature allocate calls evenly among your terminating addresses, select the Uniform check box.  Otherwise, skip to the next step.

Do you want to add a new routing instruction to the selected feature?

If...

Then...

Yes

  1. Click btn_addrule.gif.

    Result:
     The system takes you to the Routing Instruction Details screen.

  2. See Assigning Routing Instructions to a Feature for further steps.

No

Proceed to the next step.

Click btn_update.gif.

 

Result:  The system associates your feature with the call plan, then returns you to the Call Routing Tree.

From the Functions section on the left-hand side of the screen, click Save Changes.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Jobs Scheduling screen.

Type the date and time on which you want your changes propagated to the network.

 

Note:  When entering time, remember that you are using a 24-hour clock.

Click btn_submit_chngs.gif.

 

Result:  The system schedules your changes to occur on the date and time indicated.  The system will display a message containing a unique identifier for your order and allowing you to check its status.

 

Note:  If you entered the current date and time, the system will attempt to make your changes immediately.
