Assigning Features to a Call Plan

 


Procedure

Follow the steps below to assign features to a selected call plan:

 

Notes:  If you are adding a feature to a call plan that terminates to a restricted trunk, the system will block the action and display an error message.

Action

From the Functions section of the Call Routing Tree page, click Modify Call Plan.

 

Result:  The system enters Modify mode, and the Add Switched Terminating Address link appears in the Links section of the left-hand navigation bar.

 

Note:  You cannot use your browser buttons to navigate the system in Modify mode ( Example).  You must return to View Only mode by clicking either the Save Changes or Cancel Changes links on the left-hand side of the page.

From the Select other Call Plan drop-down list at the top of the page, select the call plan to which you want to assign features.

From the Links section on the left-hand side of the page, click Toll-free Details.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Toll-free Details page.

Does the Call Plan already have features associated with it?

If...

Then...

No

  1. From the Feature Type drop-down list, choose the feature you want to add.

  2. Click btn_update.gif.

    Result:
     The system attempts to save your entries, then takes you to the Feature Details page.

Yes

  1. Click btn_insertfeature.gif.

    Result:
     The system refreshes your browser window.  When the page reappears, the Feature Type drop-down list is blank and the Insert Feature and Delete Feature buttons have disappeared.

  2. From the Feature Type drop-down list, choose the feature you want to add.

  3. Click btn_update.gif.

    Result:
     The system attempts to save your entries, then takes you to the Feature Details page.

Set up the feature as desired, using the fields and button appearing on the Feature Details page.

 

Note:  You can add routing instructions to the features as desired by clicking btn_addrule.gif.  For more information on adding routing instructions to a feature, see Assigning Routing Instructions to a Feature.

Click btn_update.gif.

 

Result:  The system records your changes and returns you to the last page you were viewing.
