Assigning Routing Instructions to a Feature

 


Procedure

Follow the steps below to assign features to a selected call plan:

Action

From the Call Routing Tree screen under the View-Modify Call Plans tab, click Modify Call Plan from the Functions section on the left-hand side of the screen.

 

Result:  The system enters Modify mode, and the New Terminating Address link appears in the Page Links section of the left-hand navigation bar.

 

Note:  You cannot use your browser buttons to navigate the system.  When you click your browser's Back button, the system displays a message asking you not to do that, and takes no further action.  You must return to View Only mode by clicking either the Save Changes or Cancel Changes links on the left-hand side of the screen.

Click the feature to which you want to add routing instructions.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Feature Details screen.

Result:  The system takes you to the Routing Instruction Detail screen.

How will the network route calls when the instruction's criteria is met?

If calls will go...

Then...

...to a specific terminating address

  1. From the Default Routing Type section of the screen, select Terminating Address.

    Result:
     The system displays the Terminating Routes drop-down lists.

  2. Select the switched or dedicated terminating address(es) from the appropriate drop-down list(s).

...through another feature in the call routing tree

  1. From the Default Routing Type section of the screen, select Linked to Next Feature.

    Result:
     The system displays the Linked Feature drop-down list.

  2. Select the appropriate feature from the drop-down list.

In the Routing Criteria section of the screen, enter the criteria under which the network should route calls as you specified.

Click btn_update.gif.

 

Result:  The system will attempt to commit your routing instruction to the network.  The system will return you to the Call Routing Tree.  Your new rule should now appear in the tree.

 

Note:  If there are any problems, the system will refresh your browser window, displaying an error message explaining the problem at the top of the screen.  

From the Functions section on the left-hand side of the screen, click Save Changes.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Jobs Scheduling screen.

Type the date and time on which you want your changes propagated to the network.

 

Note:  When entering time, remember that you are using a 24-hour clock.

Click btn_submit_chngs.gif.

 

Result:  The system schedules your changes to occur on the date and time indicated.  The system will display a message containing a unique identifier for your order and allowing you to check its status.

 

Note:  If you entered the current date and time, the system will attempt to make your changes immediately.
