Adding Transfer and Release

 


Procedure

Follow the steps below to add the TnR feature to a toll-free number:

 

Step

Action

On any page under the View-Modify Call Plans tab, click Modify Call Plan from the Functions section on the left-hand side of the screen.

 

Result:  The system enters Modify mode, and the New Terminating Address link appears in the Links section of the left-hand navigation bar.

 

Note:  You cannot use your browser buttons to navigate the system.  When you click your browser's Back button, the system displays a message asking you not to do that, and takes no further action.  You must return to View Only mode by clicking either the Save Changes or Cancel Changes links on the left-hand side of the screen.

Click Toll-free Details from the Links section on the left-hand side of the screen.

 

Result:  The Toll-free Details page appears.

Click btn_addtnr.gif.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Transfer and Release (Modify Mode) page.

Do you want blind routing or Consult/Conference?

If you want...

Then...

Blind Routing

Ensure that the Blind radio button is selected.

Consult/Conference

Ensure that the Consult/Conference radio button is selected.

Do you want to set up the feature using Legacy TnR or Fast TnR?

If you want...

Then...

Fast TnR

Select the Fast check box.

 

Result:  The Music On Hold check box and the Announcement ID drop-down list disappear.  The Prompt drop-down list becomes the Strip.Digits field.

Legacy TnR

Clear the Fast check box.

 

Result:  The Music On Hold check box appears (selected) along with the Announcement ID drop-down list.

Do you want the TnR service to be able to dial the provider's toll-free numbers?

If...

Then...

Yes

Select the Link 8XX check box.

No

Proceed to the next Step.

Do you want the system to play music while the call is being transferred?

If...

Then...

Yes

  1. Select the Music On Hold check box.

    Result:  The Announcement ID drop-down list appears.

  2. From the Announcement ID drop-down list, choose the music you want the system to play.

No

Ensure that the Music On Hold radio button is clear.

 

Note:  This Step is only necessary if you chose Legacy TnR in Step 5.

In the Max. Digits field, type the number of digits operators will need to dial to route the call.

Did you select Fast TnR in Step 5?

If...

Then...

Yes

In the Strip. Digits field, type the number of dialed digits you want to system to ignore before routing the call.

For example

No

From the Prompt drop-down list, select the message you want the system to play before transferring the caller.

From the Route Plan drop-down list, select the route plan you want the TnR service to use when routing calls.

Click btn_newsavesmall.gif.

 

Result:  The system validates your changes and attempts to save them.  If successful, the system takes you to the Toll-free Details (Modify Mode) page.

 

Note:  If there are any problems, the system will return you to the Call Routing Tree page, displaying an error message at the top identifying the problem so you can correct it and try again.

Schedule your updates for propagation to the network.
