Adding Route Advance to a Toll-free Number

 


Procedure

Follow the steps below to add one or more Terminating Routes to a toll-free number with the BRNA feature:

 

Note:  This procedure is for toll-free numbers that do not already have Terminating Routes defined.  If the toll-free number you are working with already has Terminating Route(s), see Defining Terminating Routes for a Toll-free Number.

 

Step

Action

On any page under the View-Modify Call Plans tab, click Modify Call Plan from the Functions section on the left-hand side of the screen.

 

Result:  The system enters Modify mode, and the New Terminating Address link appears in the Links section of the left-hand navigation bar.

 

Note:  You cannot use your browser buttons to navigate the system.  When you click your browser's Back button, the system displays a message asking you not to do that, and takes no further action.  You must return to View Only mode by clicking either the Save Changes or Cancel Changes links on the left-hand side of the screen.

From the Links section on the left-hand side of the page, click Toll-free Details.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Toll-free Details page.

In the Terminating Routes section of the page, select the Route Advance check box.

 

Result:  TheTimer field, the RNA Prompt and Busy Prompt drop-down lists, and the Route Advance button all appear.

In the Timer field, type the number of seconds the system should let the terminating address ring before playing the RNA Prompt and trying the next terminating address.

From the RNA Prompt drop-down list, select the prompt the system should play before attempting the next terminating address.  This message will play after the indicated number seconds without an answer.

From the Busy Prompt drop-down list, select the message the system should play when the indicated terminating address is busy.  The system will play this message, then attempt the next defined terminating address.

Click btn_route_advance.gif.

 

Result:  The system takes you to the Route Advance (Modify) page.

Do you want the first terminating address to be Switched or Dedicated?

If you want...

Then...

Switched

In the Terminating Routes section, select the appropriate telephone number from the ANI drop-down list.

Dedicated

In the Terminating Routes section, select the appropriate value from the Primary Trunk drop-down list.

In the Timer field, type the number of seconds the system should let the terminating address ring before playing the RNA Prompt and trying the next terminating address.

From the RNA Prompt drop-down list, select the prompt the system should play before attempting the next terminating address.  This message will play after the indicated number seconds without an answer.

From the Busy Prompt drop-down list, select the message the system should play when the indicated terminating address is busy.  The system will play this message, then attempt the next defined terminating address.

Do you want to define Overflow Routing for this Terminating Route?

If...

Then...

Yes

  1. Select the Overflow check box.

    Result:
     The 1st DTO Trunk and 2nd DTO Trunk drop-down lists appear.

  2. Make the appropriate selections.

No

Proceed directly to the next Step.

Do you want to add or work with TnR for this Terminating Route?

If you want to...

Then...

Add TnR

(Only available if TnR has not been defined)

  1. Click btn_addtnr.gif.

    Result:
     The system takes you to the Transfer and Release (Modify Mode) page.

Modify Existing TnR

(Only available if TnR has already been defined)

  1. Click btn_modifytnr.gif.

    Result:
     The system takes you to the Transfer and Release (Modify Mode) page.

  2. See Modifying Transfer and Release for details on working with this feature.

Not mess with TnR at all

Proceed directly to the next step.

Do you want to define another Terminating Route?

If...

Then...

Yes

  1. Select the Route Advance check box.

    Result:
     A new Terminating Routes section appears.

  2. Repeat Steps 8 through 14.

Note:  You can define a maximum of four Terminating Routes.

No

Proceed directly to the next Step.

Click btn_newsavesmall.gif.

 

Result:  The system temporarily saves the values you entered.

Save your changes and schedule propagation to the network.
